The Pithy Take

The Human Rights Campaign works locally, nationally and globally on issues that affect the LGBTQ+ community. Their Corporate Equality Index measures how well employers treat their LGBTQ+ employees. To earn top ratings, employers must have taken concrete steps to establish and implement comprehensive policies, benefits and practices that ensure greater equity for LGBTQ+ workers and their families. A list of criteria is available here.

Please note that this isn’t an index of all businesses in the US; it’s limited to private sector and for-profit employers with 500 or more full-time US employees that request to participate and are accepted. You can search by business or view the list of organizations that earned a 100% rating (link below). Some top scorers include Google, Meijer, Pfizer, and Kohl’s.
