The Pithy Take

ProPublica is an independent, nonprofit news organization that primarily focuses on investigative journalism. Over the years, ProPublica conducted a series of reporting on McKinsey, unearthing secrets such as: how McKinsey never told the FDA it was working for opioid makers while also working for the agency, and how McKinsey advised the Trump administration on brutal ICE tactics.

The discoveries are at times unsettling and at other times infuriating, and ProPublica’s reporting has led to things like bills attempting to rein in conflicts of interests for consulting.
