The Pithy Take

Created by Michelle Alexander, the author of this week’s Non-fiction Feature (The New Jim Crow), the MOSAIC Fund for Justice supports organizations committed to racial justice and ending mass incarceration. The fund prioritizes organizations led by people who have been directly impacted by mass incarceration.

For example, the fund contributes money to A New Way of Life, which is an organization that promotes opportunity for formerly incarcerated women through direct services designed to mitigate the harms of mass incarceration. They provide housing, case management, pro-bono legal services, advocacy, and leadership development for women seeking to rebuild their lives after prison.
