The Pithy Take
Ted Lasso is a funny show. It’s weird, it’s comedic, it’s dramatic, it’s moving. Main character Ted Lasso is an American football coach who is hired to become the soccer coach of a Premier League team in England. Does he know anything about soccer? No! Do things go hilariously wrong? Most of the time! Does his folksy charm and goodwill win people over? Probably!
Above all, though, Ted Lasso is about belief–what happens when we believe in the best of ourselves and others, and what happens when we don’t. Endure primarily focuses on mental and physical ways in which we can push ourselves, and Ted Lasso focuses on the emotional and spiritual ways we can do so–this can be just as challenging and grueling, but ultimately worthwhile.
